Wednesdays video blog post from Mrs Edmonds
Hi everybody look at this drizzly grey rain falling outside. Mrs Edmonds will not be heading out for her walk today! However we must be greatful that this water is falling to help fill our water supplies and also to help our plants to grow.
Well I wonder who managed to have a go at any of the activities yesterday?
Today's challenge is for you to go onto our slide deck and check out Slide 12 looking at a form of communication used called "Sign Language" and learning to sign the alphabet or even your name? Mrs Edmonds found it a bit tricky to remember them. There is also slide 13 which shows you a very interesting video about another form of communication called "Morse Code". I think you will be surprised at how far we have come since then!
Well go and enjoy your day keep warm and safe and remember to be kind to your family and use your GEMS!
Bye from Mrs Edmonds!

Unfortunately I have to go out in the rain today as the girls have a paper run and we still have papers to deliver!
ReplyDeleteI used to teach children who were deaf in England and I had to learn how to communicate in sign language. Unfortunately I have forgotten most of it as I am not using it all of the time! I will need to practice again so I remember how to do it.
From Mrs Burge
Good wet, windy and rainy morning Mrs Edmonds! Definitely a day to stay inside and keep warm. I wonder if any Room 23 children will have a go at signing their names today? That looks fun. Keep dry! From Miss White
ReplyDeleteGood morning Mrs Edmonds, I will try to say my name in sign language, Vinuka
ReplyDeleteAta maria, Mrs Edmonds. Yes, the weather is very nasty and it is fortunate that we can work from home today. I like your idea about using sign language. I learnt some of the alphabet as a kid so that my friend and I could sign during Church when we were meant to be quiet and listening. (Lucky, so weren't very good at it!)
ReplyDeleteMōrena Mrs Edmonds! It sure is yucky outside today, I also wont be going for a walk! I hope Mrs Burge doesn't get too wet!! Using sign lanuage to make your name is a great idea! I might try to do it too. Gosh imagine if we still had to use morse code today instead of writing quick and easy messages to each other on here!! Technology is awesome! Have a great day!

Good Morning Mrs Edmonds. You have inspired me to go onto the slide deck and learn how to sign my name in sign language. I might share this slide with my own boys too so they can learn. Have a happy day and I hope you manage to stay warm and dry.
