Thursday 30th April Mrs Edmonds' Video post

Good morning my beautiful Room 23 Whanau

Wow its Thursday!

How is the new 'Slide Deck' of activities going?
Mrs Edmonds is going to start making a recycled vehicle!  I have collected some toilet rolls and I will use some cellotape and scissors and maybe find some wool or string to make a little car.
Have a look at slide 7 for more information about the 'recycled vehicle' activity.

I will be contacting the rest of your parents today to arrange a morning or afternoon session with you for 'VIDEO MEETS'.
This is where I will be running a morning and afternoon session Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  An email will be going out on Friday for your parents to read all about.

Have a great day guys and I will see you all again tomorrow morning!

Good bye from Mrs Edmonds

Week 3 Term 2 Wednesday 29th April Video post from Mrs Edmonds

Morena Tamariki ma

Wow Week 3 of Term 2 and its Wednesday meaning this is a short week.

We have an exciting new 'slide deck' of activities! and an IMPORTANT announcement.

Please go and see what new fun activities we have for you to do over the next two weeks.
Remember you don't need to do them all!

Mrs Edmonds will be contacting your mum and dad this week to arrange a 'VIDEO MEET' call with you for next week.  This is going to be so much fun because I will get to see you and you will get to see a small group of Room 23 friends.  We can share our work together and talk about how we are going.

Mrs Edmonds has had a look at our new 'slide deck' and I wonder if anyone is going to try out slide 7 there is a cool challenge where you collect recycled materials from around your house such as; egg cartons, tissue boxes, toilet rolls and lids and to make a VEHICLE, that could be a bus, van, train, plane or a car etc.

Go and enjoy your day and begin an activity or two and I look forward to hearing about how you are getting on.

Bye from Mrs Edmonds!

Thursday 23 April Mrs Edmonds Video post

Morena Tamariki ma

I hope you are all well.

Mrs Edmonds has been very busy in her kitchen cooking lasagna.  I have also been sanding an old school desk I had.  I want to make it look nearly new again!
Also my big girl Lillias has been sewing using our sewing machine.  She found an old dress and asked me if she could cut it short because it didn't look good as she had grown too tall for it.  We measured it and pinned it and cut it and then she sewed it.  Now it looks like a new dress!

My daughters and I are going to make a red poppy flower to put on our letter box today! The poppy flower represents ANZAC day.  Next week you will be learning about Anzac day on our new slide deck.  Perhaps you could ask your mums and dads if they know what ANZAC day is?

Heres a before and after photo of Lillas's dress.  Can you see the changes she made?

Ata marie Room 23 whanau

What a glorious day it is outside.  I can hear the birds chirping and the sun is beaming in through my windows I am happy!  I hope you are all happy today.

This morning I had my two daughters Lillias and Georgia-Rose wanting to jump in and say hello to you all.
I have reminded you all to try and and practice your JOLLY PHONICS song found on Slide 9 and slide 10 when you click on the pictures on the right side of the slides.
The Jolly Phonics song is super good at helping you to use your memory and remember the letter names and sounds from the alphabet.  This is also great for your writing and reading skills!

Also on slide 7 SCIENCE there is a challenge for you to take a look at a video where you can learn how you can re-grow your veges and fruit from the cut off scraps that you usually throw out.
Miss Robinson from Rm9a has grown a little avocado plant from just   an avocado seed!  Heres her link you may want to have a look!  Click below!

Good morning, Morena, Malo e lelei Room 23

Please feel free to make a comment below

I have a few challenges for you! I would like for you to give these activities on our "slide deck" a go if you haven't already done them!  Maybe just choose 1? or you could do all 3?

Slide 5 Healthy FoodsFind 10 Healthy foods in your house.  Maybe your fridge or pantry?
Ask someone in your family if they can help to name them and you can discuss their colours?
If you have already done this perhaps you could draw a picture of some healthy foods?

Slide 8 Community HeroesIf you have some paper and colouring pencils or felts you could draw a picture of a police officer.  Your police officer maybe a man or a woman?
What do they wear?.....a hat?....a belt?
Do you know what they do to help us in the community?
Perhaps you could go onto the internet and find out some information about police officers and what they do?
You could draw little pictures or write words using your sounding out skills.
I would love to see your poster!

and lastly.....you know that Mrs Edmonds LOVES singing and dancing!!!!!!!!!!!

and on slide 6 Music there is a picture of a camel and if you click on it you will find the "Dad I want to be a camel" song!   This has all the words so you can get someone from your family to sing and dance with you!

Yay!

Well done getting busy with doing some learning from home this week.  I am so proud of your efforts and your enthusiasm!  I have seen some amazing work coming to me already from your mums and dads.  I look forward to receiving more of your photos and sharing them next week on our class blog.
