Tuesday 25th August 2020 Mrs Edmonds video Blog

Good morning guys its Tuesday the 25th of August.

I have been looking at our slide deck of activities and today I have chosen slide 9 "Writing" Recipe Time.   I decided to write my own recipe for an Omelette.  I made this for my breakfast this morning and a few days also last week.  I had taken a photo and will upload my recipe and picture below for you to see.
You can choose your own favourite food and write a recipe for it?
Slide 9 can help you also to find ideas about different recipes you may like.

Slide 4 is our GEMS slide and an easy task to do is to find a family member and share your thoughts with them today about how you are both feeling? you could ask them how they are? give them a hug, tell them how you feel? This can brighten someone's day!

Ka kete

Monday 24 August Mrs Edmonds Video Blog post.

Morning guys I hope you had a good weekend.

Well done to you all working at home reading and writing and doing creative art drawings.  It is so good to hear from your parents that you are keeping yourselves busy.  Lots of you have learnt all your word list and I have sent out the next one.  This is brilliant.  Thanks to all the children and parents that have sent work through. Just whatever you can manage is fine.

If you wanted to read and you have no books don't panic on slide deck 6 there is a cool website "Flyleaf Publishing" it has loads of cool books that you can read.

If you wanted to go check out other class blogs just go to the top of the task bar and take out our class room 23 and type in 8 or 10 or another class you may want to look at.  They have been busy also doing the slide deck of activities.

Friday we start our class google meets and I am sooooooooooooo excited to see you.
Go and enjoy your day and keep warm.
Hugs from Mrs Edmonds!

Gorgeous little cards.  That little yellow chic is super

cute.

Learning at Home shared work: Lucas, Vinuka

Wednesdays video blog post from Mrs Edmonds

Hi everybody look at this drizzly grey rain falling outside.  Mrs Edmonds will not be heading out for her walk today!  However we must be greatful that this water is falling to help fill our water supplies and also to help our plants to grow.

Well I wonder who managed to have a go at any of the activities yesterday?

Today's challenge is for you to go onto our slide deck and check out Slide 12 looking at a form of communication used called  "Sign Language" and learning to sign the alphabet or even your name?  Mrs Edmonds found it a bit tricky to remember them.  There is also slide 13 which shows you a very interesting video about another form of communication called "Morse Code".  I think you will be surprised at how far we have come since then!

Well go and enjoy your day keep warm and safe and remember to be kind to your family and use your GEMS!
Bye from Mrs Edmonds!

Vinuka has shared some writing from home

Wonderful detail you have added to this piece of writing Vinuka.  Great capital letters at the start of the sentence and full stops at the end.  I wonder if your animal is a rabbit?

Also you have said that you have been practising your word lists and you know List 7 now!
This is fantastic Vinuka you are progressing very well.
Ka pai! Mrs Edmonds is super proud of your effort.

Tuesday 18th August Video Blog post

Good Morning Room 23

Today I have been busy having fun with our slide deck of activities.  I found slide number 8 and listened to the story about a little boy called Billy.  I then decided to have a go at making a few worry dolls myself.  Perhaps you worry or someone you know worries? Maybe you could make them a worry doll?

Mrs Edmonds used a piece of paper, pen, glue, scissors and recycled card and I borrowed a couple of pegs off the washing line.....perhaps ask mum first as you may need a little help.

Also please remember to read everyday and sing our jolly phonics song below daily.

Have a lovely day and I will see you tomorrow.

Blog post Week 5 term 3

Morena Room 23!

Wow, another beautiful sunny day to start week 5 of term 3 for our distance learning programme.
We have a brand new slide deck of learning for you. You can find this on our blog page under the "learning at home" tab.  This will be up for 2 weeks and it is jam packed full of amazing fun activities for you to do at home.
Please do not think that you  must do them all as you just do what you can.
We still have our old slide deck below so if you wanted to finish anything off there you can.
TVNZ has a learning channel for all children which is called DUKE, it is free so check it out.

Mrs Edmonds will post her daily video every morning so keep a look out.
If you could choose 1 of your favourite activities and send me a photo of it to my email I would love to share it on our blog.  Next week we will be looking at starting our video meet sessions.

Remember to keep safe and take care!
